What causes unwanted hair?
Excess and unwanted hair is a common problem. Women frequently experience this condition on the face, especially the upper lip or eyebrow area, at the bikini line, under their arms or on their legs. Men often have unwanted hair on their back or chest, between their eyebrows or on other parts of their face. In many cases excessive hair growth runs in families. Hormones also play a role. Some people experience unwanted or excess hair from the time they reach puberty; others find it to be a condition that gets worse with age. Some women experience additional hair growth during pregnancy or menopause.
How many treatments are required for Electrolysis?
The number of treatments required, vary with each individual. Factors such as hair growth cycles, previous use of temporary hair removal methods, heredity, hormone function, medications and stress influence the treatment program for each person. It is important to adhere to the recommended treatment schedule to achieve optimum results in the shortest time frame.
Is Electrolysis uncomfortable?
It is impossible to destroy hair growth tissue without some sensation. Sensation varies for each individual and adjustments can be made to make the treatment as comfortable as possible.
Also available are topical anesthetics which can be applied prior to your appointment.
Are all hairs eliminated in one treatment?
Deep, course hairs cannot always be eliminated with one treatment; thus, breaking down the hair germ cells may require additional treatments. During the course of treatment and due to the cyclic nature of hair growth, new hairs as well as hairs emerging from a dormant phase will also be treated and may be visible the same time as finer regrowth hairs.

How do I choose between Electrolysis and Laser?
A complimentary consultation with a certified technician will determine the most effective procedure for that individual person. Procedures depend on skin and hair colour, thickness, density and location.
What is Lightsheer™ Laser Hair Removal Treatment?
Lightsheer™ involves the treatment of unwanted hair, regardless of your skin colour, and puts an end to routine shaving, waxing, electrolysis, and tweezing. For many men and women, unwanted hair can be a nightmare and you may be surprised to learn that just about your entire body is covered with hair, it appears in places we don't expect.

Laser hair removal is FDA approved for permanent hair REDUCTION, targeting light brown to black hair only. The treatment is a safe, fast, gentle, and effective alternative method for hair removal.

What should I do prior to a Laser treatment?
You must discontinue waxing, threading, plucking, tweezing and sugaring at least four weeks prior to laser treatment. You must also limit sun exposure and discontinue glycolic, Retin-A®, and Alpha Hydroxy Acids three days prior to laser hair removal treatment.
How many treatments are required?
The number of laser hair removal treatments you may need for good long-term benefits depends on the area you wish to have treated, the hair density, and your hair's growth cycle. Your hair grows in cycles and many factors influence its growth. Your session may be a few minutes to a couple of hours, depending on the size of the area being treated. Age, ethnicity, weight, hormones, diet, medication, and metabolism all play a role in your hair's location, thickness, and strength. Taking off the hair does not make it grow back thicker, darker, or quicker. In fact, the opposite is usually the case. The laser may cause the hair to come back slower and thinner following removal.
What should be expected after a Laser treatment?
After treatment, the area is cooled with disposable cold packs and you can return to your normal activities immediately. The area treated may be slightly red, swollen, and tender, this usually lasts 2 to 24 hours. We also recommend clients wear sunscreen of at least SPF 30 on a daily basis on any treated areas exposed to the sun. Direct sun exposure should be avoided for one week and, as always, it is a good idea to limit your sun exposure. Post-treatment residual, burned hair will remain in the follicle and it can take 7 to14 days for this to reach the surface of the skin, which is called the "shedding stage" These hairs can be removed on their own or by exfoliating and releasing the treated hair. In between laser treatments, hair can be clipped or shaved, but NO OTHER REMOVAL METHODS should be used. At each treatment approximately 20 to 25 percent of hairs are in the correct growth stage needed for treatment, and with a series treatments almost all hairs should be treated.
Are there any side effects?
The LightSheer™ Laser’s cold handpiece greatly reduces any discomfort during treatment. You will experience a sting or pinch similar to the snap of a rubber band or tingling sensation when the pulsed light is delivered. No local anesthesia or pain medication is usually required as most patients tolerate the treatment well. Short term side effects may include slight polifollicular erythema and edema which typically lasts less than an hour, although rarely may last a few days. In rare instances there may be some blistering and/or scabbing following treatment. With proper home care regime there is no scarring.
What advantages does the LightSheer™ have over other laser hair removal systems?
The LightSheer™ Diode Laser System was designed from the ground up for laser hair removal, so it has the wavelength, fluence, pulse width, and active epidermal cooling system - the ChillTip™ ideally suited for laser hair removal. The system is small, compact, and (in some models) portable, so it fits well into virtually every type of existing practices. The system's solid state construction makes it durable; it's state-of-the-art user interface makes it easy to use.
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are injections of hylauronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar and collagen derived from human collagen and manufactured under laboratory conditions. These injections are just below the skins surface to temporarily fill moderate to severe wrinkles. The body then reabsorbs the fillers over time, so periodic touch ups are needed to maintain results. Results commonly last between 6 and 12 months. Flawless Essence offers a wide variety of Dermal Fillers such as Juvederm, Radiesse, Restylane, Perlane and Evolence.
What is Botox?
BOTOX Cosmetic® is a purified protein. This protein is administered in very low doses directly into the overactive muscles with tiny injections. Botox protein then prevents the treated muscles from contracting and causing wrinkles. As the muscle can no longer contract as easily, this, in turn, smoothens out the wrinkle in the skin overlying the muscle, making you look relaxed, refreshed, and more youthful.
How long does BOTOX Cosmetic® last? Is it Permanent?
BOTOX Cosmetic® is not permanent; it lasts between 3-6 months on average, however everyone is different.
If you follow the physician’s directions and have your first 3 treatments promptly every 3 months, you will find that:
  • The next treatment lasts 4 months
  • The following treatment lasts 5 months
  • And the one after that lasts 6 months
Patients who stay on his prompt treatment schedule can stabilize their treatments to twice per year.
What are the side effects?
Side effects are RARE and are NOT PERMANENT.
Rarely, there can be some minor bruising (which is easily covered up with makeup) or a slight short-term headache.
I have heard that you can get a drooping eyelid – is this true?
Again, side effects are RARE and are NOT PERMANENT and this can include a drooping eyelid. The incidence of side effects is less than 1%, and when they occur lasts for only a few days. Most patients do not experience any side effects at all.
Can Botox treat Hyperhidrosis?
Yes. Hyperhidrosis is a disorder that defines individuals who sweat more than the body would normally need to maintain optimal temperature.

Hyperhidrosis affects approximately 3% of the population.

It has been previously disregarded as a natural body reaction that most sufferers learn to live with and compensate for in lifestyle, but it has also been shown to seriously affect quality of life. Many sufferers must be conscious of their sweating when making decisions about daily activities. Sweating hands, underarms, feet or face can give the wrong impression in business and personal situations. It can have an emotional, social, and physical impact on sufferers.

Injection with BOTOX® interrupts the signal from the nerve to the sweat gland to reduce sweating in the area that is affected. The injection is done with a very fine needle and, for treatment of the underarms, face and head, an anesthesia is often not required as the procedure is virtually painless.

A clinical study found a reduction in sweating of 83% in 95% of participants. The effect of treatment can be immediate or take up to a week, with the average duration of effect after a single treatment being 9 months – 1 year, with 30% of patients have effects lasting longer that a year. Your sweating will gradually return, and your comfort will dictate when you should repeat treatment.

Side effects, if they occur, are temporary. A rare reported side effect that may be perceived is increased sweating in other areas. Other side effects may include pain at the site of the injection.
